Steps towards a stronger local economy

The Valley County Economic Development Council has outlined steps to define strategies and actions to contribute to a stronger regional economy. These steps include the following events, all of which are free-of-charge and open to the community. You can register online for any of the individual events through the following links and we encourage you to attend one or more of them:

 workshop June 20 (1-6:30PM – McCall, Shore Lodge): The Recreation Summit is an event for local chambers, businesses, organizations and elected officials to explore the significance of recreation and tourism for the local economy [details & registration]. This event is a collaborative effort of the McCall Area Chamber, the Winter Recreation Committee and the Economic Development Council.
 martini_glass June 20 (6:30-7:30PM – McCall, Shore Lodge): following the Recreation Summit – an annual Social Hour (cash bar) for elected officials, business/organization leaders and community stakeholders in Valley County and Meadows Valley [through summit registration]
 workshop June 21 (8:30AM-12:30PM – McCall, tba): A workshop on three focus areas in economic development [details & registration]

  • money circulation in the local economy
  • downtown economics and amenities
  • policy setting utilizing market-based solutions

This workshop is a collaborative effort of the Economic Development Council and the University of Idaho.

nicubunu_Abstract_people June 26 (starting at 1:00PM – McCall, Legion Hall):  the standing June council meeting will be dedicated to formulating an action plan; since the June 21 workshop will be the starting point for this meeting, interested participants should consider signing up for the June 21 workshop as well [registration].
